    Software to manipulate point clouds?

I've imported a point cloud (~7500 points) from a scanned object into PTC WildFire. Some of the data is not required--it's presence is distracting and makes the computer work that much harder.

Does anyone know of an application that allows you to import the point cloud, remove the unnecessary points, and export it?

    Thanks,
    Chris Kirchen

    point cloud

I know you can import it into Rhino. Delete out points...But does the model have to be exported as a point cload or can it be exported as IGS, STL etc. I've not tried to export out as a point cload once I have had a model in Rhino.

www.rhino3d.com you can try their 30 save evaluation version.

Have a look at Geomagic Studio.

    www.geomagic.com

It does everything you could ever want with point clouds and dam fast too.

Might be a bit on the pricey side though.

I took a quick peek at their web site but didn't see a price listed. Ruffly what are we talking?
