A couple months ago, I saw that one of my software packages was able to reverse engineer a 3D Model from GCode, except I can't seem to remember which program I saw that could do that. I think it was BobCad. I have V21, but also viewed the demo for V23. It would take GCode, simulate the machining process, and give you an actual 3D Model FILE (the file being the important part). I know all of my CAD/CAM programs simulate the machining process, but there was one that would construct an actual file (like an STL or something). Does anyone know if it was BobCad, and how to do this? If it wasn't BobCad, is there another program that will do this?

| A Solid G-code Verification Program will give you a solid model of the Part. Not likely a perfect replika of the original because of the way it is constructed it wont allow you to do much with it in terms of modification. But probably good enough for a mockup. |
