Need Help!- 4th Axis Help

Hi Guys

Im struggling to find info for a cam newbier relating to 4th axis on a hobbyist level.

I have my 4th axis all working in mach3 (A Axis, not set up as slave or anything yet).

But im looking for info on how to use it from a Cam program, what cam software do people generally use for 4th axis hobbyist use? I have access to a few Cam Programs (SolidCam, BobCad, Featurecam) but have no 4th axis post processors for 4th axis, and even if I did, i cannot work it out, how to generate 4 axis toolpaths etc, and just generally to get it working.

Ive been searching but can find very little of use, does anyone know of any sites or tutorials that may help?

I currently use Artcam for my 3 axis work.

Hi there,

Theres quite a bit of info on creating 4 axis toolpaths for FREE at the website in my sig. See the tutorials page... chapters 11, 12 and 13. There's a FREE download of chapter 11 which should get you a good bit of the way....
