Other software like gibbs cam, unigraphics let you highlight the surface you want to machine when in shaded mode. No wire frame geometry shows up. Click on the top of a part, it gets highlighted and a wat you go. No trying to hit the right lines when a part is really busy. >> < |
I normally don't have the surfaces shaded when I cut them because I want to see which way the surface arrows(normals) are pointing, and which side of the surface they're on. I'm not sure why you're selecting wire frame when you want to cut a surface. When you want to cut a surface, you go to NC>3D>Cut (or Planar for example), and Surfcam will want you to pick a surface, and wire frame won't be selectable. To do wireframe, you use NC>2D>Contour( or pocket).
It would really help if you had the wireframe on a layer by itself, so you could turn it off when you don't need it.
2004 works the same as 2003
Is it possible to post a file or a screen shot so I can see what you're cutting? Or maybe if I knew basically what the type of cut is, I could make a sample file, cut it and attach it or send it to you. Gotta be some easy way to clear the confoosion!
