Corel to Autcad Text trimming

I am having troubles drawing up a sign using ovals and text in corel, and then saving as dxf or dwg and opening in autocad to trim out the lines needed to allow the parts to stay together when cutting, but I am having problems with the trimming. Some letters trim just fine to the oval outline, but others, it deletes half the letter!!!??? Whats going on, anyone have a fix?

Once you bring in the .dxf file in to autocad go to the express menu then text then explode text click on this then window the text this will explode the text then use the explode comand and window the text agian then hit enter
now you can trim extend or add lines.must have autocad ver2007-2008-2009 There is a express menus for older ver from the internet look for express menus.

If the text from Corel is made up of splines, that could be the problem. I've seen similar occurences when trimming splines. Unfortunately, I don't really have an answer. If they are splines, you could try a spline to polyline conversion lisp and convert to polylines before trimming.

If the text from Corel is made up of splines,In autocad save the file as wmf this will explode the splines.
