Until now I have been able to load my programs into the machine control. I now am getting into some stuff that will have programs much larger then the memory in the machine.

Has anyone used a ethernet to RS232 adaptor for this kind of thing?

I am wondering if it will handle the handshaking properly.

Yes, we use a Ethernet to RS232 converter for drip feeding on our NUM controller.

Been using it for over a year now with no problems.

Hello Andre,
You might want to buy a unit that has galvanic isolation between all interfaces= RS232, Ethernet, power source. I did not see that feature on that particular model. This one has it, but cost more:

It even has 2 serial ports. You also need to provide your own power source 10-60 VDC.
