    Ideas for software

    Hi

I'm a math guy looking for new software to develop..

What kind of a CAM program would you write if you were doing one from the ground up? Can you think of features that are missing from today's CAM software?

Not CAM related, but if I were a math guy looking for software to write, I think I would take a crack at the PCB autorouter market. There has been a lot of consolidation in that market, and there are only a couple really good packages (extreme $$). Take a look at www.connecteda.com for one of the new upstarts. Much of what is available is marginally useful.

Seems like there is already a saturation in the low end CAM stuff.

    Regards,
    Eric

    5-axis?

Yes I'll need to look at that, thanks etz.

What do you think about 5 axis optimizers, is there still room for improvement in making them more automatic?
