Free 2.5D .dxf -> G-code

Hi,

I have done some searching, but there's so much out there that I don't know what I should be looking for. I also can't find anything which is free.

I'm looking for something like LazyCam (With the pocketing tool.) which is free.

Any suggestions ?

Thanks,
-Andrew.

CamBam Beta version will do this with .3DS files and also loads .DXF .3DS will be limited by the file format to 64,000 faces.

For anything beyond 64,000 faces you can use FREEMill.. but you'll need to use something like Meshlab to get the DXF to .STL

Hope this helps

No I'm a student, however I do help other students who struggle with their assignments for free. I am also a member of some games-related forums and help people with programming for their modifications of games, again for free. I never ask for payment for the help that I give, which is some cases is quite a lot of help. I've even made entire programs for people. Do you never use any free programs or resources ? (That includes asking for help from forums such as this, or using open source software such as Linux.) Do you ever ask colleagues for help which involves them taking their time to help you ?

Thanks Khalid I'll look into it.

It's one thing to get help free, but to expect hardware or software free is another??

I'm not asking for any hardware at all, I don't know where you got that idea from.

Software is very commonly free, Linux is probably the biggest example of this.
