Newbie- Help choosing the right software, raised lettering signs.

Hi,

Cut2D from Vectric(www.vectric.com) is exactly what I need but I cannot afford it, so I'm looking for the best cheapest or even freeware/shareware alternative,

I'm wanting to make signs with raised lettering and edges to be cast in aluminium, using sand moulding and lost foam casting, I've never used CAD software before and I find it difficult to learn a specially when they have so many bells and whistles, but of course I'm willing to put in the effort once I find the right software combination, that can take me from designing the sign to milling then to be cast in aluminium.

Any help is greatly appreciated

Hi,

Will CamBam, looks to be the way to go since it has a free version, but the only downside is that the full version is priced a little higher than Cut2D which is probably the better choice for my needs once I can afford it, at least now I have something that I'm confident should do the job.

I'm still interested if anyone knows of a better solution.
