You might try the following - its shareware and you'd need a machine program to run it on.
http://www.softlookup.com/display.as...3&DID=4J58YURT
Its GCode2000 . If it works for you let us know!
Cheers - Jim

Here is a detailed example process showing how to turn a 3D DXF model of the Eiffel Tower into G-Code for cutting a 3D relief carving, using the VS3D software:

Talking

thanks,
dont understand why .dxf convert to .cnc by ACE YA G-code result is not work!

but when i load original .dxf file to DeskAM then save as "toolpaths DXF" to harddisk, load it into Kcam4 and save as G-code file to harddisk.

at the end use Turbocnc to read that G-code for Picocnc controller to drive Sherline mill........... it is work!

please dont Laughs me stupid for that

what is meaning "toolpaths DXF"?
what difference between "toolpaths DXF" and dxf file from CAD?

newbie question

I've downloaded and tried it.
I don't understand the "need a machine program to run it on", I run it in Win2K on my laptop. When reading the rest of this, be aware G-code is new to me. So for those with another standing, please look at the program and make up your own mind.

It looks very much like a program developed to meet one's own requirements and not a general one. It's actually very annoying that it has too much good in it to just throw it out as junk. And I'm still looking to find if it can do what I want if I just find the right "buttons to press". (Read: doc. could be better.) One thing is good: it's basic and doesn't try to make much assumptions. But to be worth the asking price for me, it would have to do a bit more. I believe most of it would not be a big challenge for the programmer.

It seems from your referring to "us" that you are connected with the developer(s). I suggest that if you are open for feedback, open a new thread for discussion of this program. I'll be there. And I'll try to be constructive.

As you may have noticed, I won a copy of BobCad here on CNCzone. So if that program can fill all my needs, I will drop GCode2000. But it may be good on the complicated stuff and not on basics. I use ProgrammersFileEditor as much as I do Word because they fill different needs. But at least until I get my copy, I'll look at GCode2000 and see if I can figure it out.

So my conclusion is it may be good, but expect to put in some artistic thinking to make it do what you need. If you don't it will not "think for you".
If you have years of experience hand-coding (or debugging) G-code, it's probably a super tool.

Sorry for the confusion I may have created on that posting... First

In my quick review of the program - it looked like I could generate the GCode - but would then need to use MACH2 or something like that as a "machine(ing) program" to get the work done. The GCode would be there but the needed control of my mill.

Sorry there - I was refering to the US on the CNCZone - no, I am not connected with the developer. It would be nice to get information back from everyone that tries a program and maybe mini reviews could be posted in their spot on the 'Zone. (The Product Review Section of the Magazine)

Thats Just the kind of feedback I'd be looking for - a quick screening reference and noted the limitations of the software. Thanks - and sorry for the unintended confusuion!

OK.
I stuff the G-code into EMC, an open-source program running (literally) under Linux. And if we don't agree on the trig we end up just staring at each other, nothing more happening. That's one of the things I was hoping the GCode2000 could be helpful with. It's not.

Hey guys,

I'm not clear exactly what it is you're looking for, but it so happens that I just added a DXF import option to a CNC editor I've been working on. It reads 2D DXF files and allows you to set cutting conditions seperately by layer. I'm getting close to a beta release, maybe somebody here on the Zone would be interested in beta testing? Anyway, here's a link if you want to know more:

http://home.comcast.net/~smartinz/so...2/ncplotv2.htm

If you are interested in trying it out, even in it's current state, I can make a download available. Post a reply here and let me know if are.

Regards,
Scott

Chomp! There it went, hook bait and sinker!

You can probably decode my email address from my sig.
By a quick scan of your web, it looks like what I'm looking for. A program that does not hover high above the G-code level.
