    Can someone suggest a CAD/CAM?

I'm building a cnc router with the purpose of making speaker baffles. Real simple stuff (beveled holes usually). Seems to me that it's kind of wasteful to buy a sophisticated cad/cam package, not to mention the time it takes to learn the software. If any one have a suggestion for a cad/cam package that works with Mach 3 I would really appreciate your opinion.

    Hi Jimluu,
If you are only going to do 2D parts with the router the Cut2D program from Vectric is priced very reasonably, posts toolpaths very quickly with a great simulator included for around $150 I think, but it does not include a CAD program. If you need both CAD and CAM, Dolphin CAD/CAM USA has many packages for different needs at very reasonable prices and you can find their authorized reseller on eBay also. There are so many programs available so it may be good to download some demo versions to see if what they offer will work for you and choose the one you like best. I'm sure someone else will probably suggest other choices for you. Good luck and I hope you find something that works good for you!

Dolphin CAM is very easy to use and intuitive. I can recommend it. The support here in the forum and from the actual retail office is superb. I have no connection with Dolphin apart from being a very satisfied user.
I love deadlines- I like the whooshing sound they make as they fly by.

ive got dolphin as well and it is a pretty decent program ,i'm sure if you talk with Rodney from Dolphin US , he'll be able to put together a package that will suit your needs .

if you can t afford or justify the cost of a decent cad/cam system , there are a number of freewares on web that with a little work can post out a decent program
