Need Help!- convert .jpg to gibbs or.igs

I am working on a side project at work. We use GibbsCAM for software, and I'd like to take a .jpg file, convert it to something I can import into Gibbs, and etch the image onto a steel plate. I am fine once I get it into Gibbs, but have had no luck finding software that would let me convert a line drawing .jpg file to something like an .igs file.

There are some raster to vector converters available that will enable you to load the .jpg or .bmp etc. and then after you vectorize it you will be able to save vectors as a .dxf which I would think you could easily import into GibbsCAM. Wintopo ( www.wintopo.com ) has a freeware version that will probably work but there are other raster to vector conversion programs available that will do the same. Magic Tracer is fairly cheap at around $49 and I think they have a trial version that is good for something like 11 uses. You can Google search and find more of the same. Hope this helps you out somehow.

Photoshop or Illustrator can also convert from raster to vector. Pretty sure Illustrator can export to .dxf also.
