Hi guys, So I am looking into virtual machining software such as Predator or VeriCut. Now I know they tend to be on the pricey side, I am trying to determine if they are necessary for our application. We are a small machine shop who specialize in finishing parts that are pre-roughed out to such tight tolerances as 5microns or .0002". I am not too sure if these software programs are needed. I have a feeling they are used more for roughing out parts where tool collision is a lot more common. We are trying to cut back on the amount of parts that are cut out of tolerance due to changing procedures or programming. So, things like how/where we clamp are critical when trying to machine to .0002" parallel across 4 to 5 inches. So do softwares such as VeriCut or Predator take clamping force into consideration when verifying? Thanks |
