Delcam has just released Artcam Express, a simpler and much less expensive version than the one you are probably familiar with aimed at jewelers (Artcam Jewelsmith). This one claims to be directly aimed at Artisans, hobbyists, and small businesses, and seems to be pretty clearly aimed at the router and woodworking guys too. The current price is $1100. This may be the thing for those of you who have always wanted the power of Artcam but didn't need the jeweler specific functions and the ten grand price tag of the full package. Haven't played with it much yet but it looks like it could be a really good option to investigate for a lot of people on here. If anyone has tried the demo I would like to know how much it differs from the full Jewelsmith package.  |
