Hi there, Ive purchased a 3 axis CNC router, Ill get it in a couple of weeks. :) So not even a newbie! Im after some simple software that will allow me to draw vector lines/ circles etc of the toolpaths themselves. Then selecting, defining each line segments RPM, feed rate etc. Then simulate. Is there any such software? Or is it either, write the gcode manually OR create the 3d model then auto generate toolpaths. Hope Im making sense! Cheers Lee |

| Draw your lines/circles/arcs in just about any 2D CAD program. Group them together using layers, with objects on the same layer sharing the same parameters. Save as a .dxf and use a CAM program like SheetCAM to process the .dxf. This will let you change your cutting parameters on a layer by layer basis. Even the free ACE converter will let you do this, althouigh you won't have as much control.

| Thanks for your replies. Type 3 software is coming with the machine, maybe i should do some testing before asking questions. What you are saying Gerry sounds simple enough, ill look into these layers. Thanks Dennis Ill download the demo for supercamXP see if your program works for me. Cheers |
