I am a newbie at this. A friend of mine made a file for me in illustrator and exported it as a DXF file. I can not get it converted to g-code. I tried CAMBAM and Lazycam as I use Mach3 and nothing I try works. Can someone help me with this?

Try this. Your .dxf contained blocks, which need to be exploded.

Thanks for the help. It will now generate g-code but some of the letters are not right. What do you mean by blocks? And how did you fix it? I also have Illistrator and Auto cad 2005 at work but do not know how to use them well.
I could all the help I can get, I really want to learn this stuff.
A block is a group of objects treated as as single object. To get to the individual objects (which LazyCAm needs), you need to use the "explode" command on the block in AutoCAD. I noticed one letter was messed up, apparently illustrator did not save the .dxf correctly.
