Can you fool a CNC router table to cut a Cylinder from a flat design?

My question is if there is a way to make a flat design and fool the computer to make a Cylinder out of it?

If you have a rotary axis, you can swap the Y axis for the rotary axis and cut around the cylinder.

Instead of a Y-axis, you could run "A, X, Z" assuming you have 3-axis, like ger21 said you will need a rotary axis.

How complex will your part be?

If its simple, you could code by hand.

Also If you swap that Y-axis, into an A-axis (rotary), it will need to be setup in your control (Mach3, etc...) as a rotary axis, unlike the Y-axis which would have been a linear axis.

The A-axis will work in degrees.
