I was wondering if there was any software to help with fancy trim/moulding. You know what I mean, the swirlie/flowery/cool design type moulding. Something that would let you point and click your way to nice trim/moulding designs. Instead of having to drop to very basic shapes and building from scratch. It would be a great program for cabinet makers. I was just wondering if anything like that existed. |

| Maybe ArtCAM, but it's a LOT of money. If you have some 2D drawings or clipart, you might want to look at using MeshCAM with the images. But for good results, you'd probably need to use a little Photoshop or Paint Shop Pro.

| Gerry is basically correct - You can start with an image (a scan of wallpaper, for example) and convert the image brightness into surface height. Then lay out the tool paths on that surface. That is what ArtCam does. VS3D can also do that. And in addition, VS3D is able to perform Virtual Sculpting. VS3D is considerably less expensive than ArtCam PRO. You can download VS3D and get a free 30-day trial. Visit the VS3D home page at: http://www.DesignsComputed.com/vs3d Daniel Carr - President Designs Computed

| Thank you Mr Carr for another option.. I would suggest that sense you are the dealer you might want to post under the area Product Announcements & Manufacturer News offering your new product and the free trial. Here is the link. http://www.cnczone.com/forums/forumd...?s=&forumid=64 thanks for your time.

| Cadcam, Thanks for the link - I will take a look. My apologies for the "advertisement" - I was not aware of the guidelines (I'm new here). PS: I'm actually the author of VS3D, not a re-seller ("dealer").
