    CAD/CAM Serial Control Software

I am designing a CNC stepper controller circuit. I have made it with a PIC controlling the stepper motors. I have also designed a serial RS232 interface for it. However, I am finding it very hard to find any software out there that can control CNCs by serial commands sent over the RS232 line. I need to find a decent controller software that I can use and model my serial interface command set from. All programs I have found so far require me to buy their serial stepper controller hardware. None of them give the serial command set that are sent out from their software to control the CNC. I have emailed Kellyware KCAM and have posted questions in that forum as well (no answer from anyone). There was another user as well that wants the command set, so I know I am not alone out there.

I am running out of software options for my serial project, I have looked over so many softwares.

Thanks in advance for any help.

I am not sure if this is pertinent to what you are looking for, but both Acroloop and Galil Hardware controllers will operate by the serial port (RS-232) method of downloading the native commands, a list of which can be downloaded from the respective operating manuals from parker-Hannefin (Acroloop) site and the Galil site.

Thanks for the quick response. I visited the websites you mentioned, however I couldnt find any software that I could use. Just their propriety hardware controllers. Since, I am building my own, I do not need these. But, I'll keep looking and waiting for some more responses.
    Thanks.
