I use inventor for my 3d stuff and I saw edgecam to program cnc's. My question is how would I go about hooking it up to a cnc. I was thinking about the smithy granite 3-in-one machines and the flashcut cnc retrofit. Do I just have to hook everything up and run edgecam or do I have to "cut and paste" code to another program to run the cnc. Thanks |

| Edgecam is a CAM program. It uses your 3d Inventor (CAD) drawing to make a Gcode program (saved as a file on a disk). The gcode program is then opened and run by a cnc controller program like Turbocnc or Mach2 to send step and direction signals to your cnc drive board. Bill |
