| Need some advice or examples for a g&l that has an 8000b control being a Fanuc guy I was wondering what is normally used for references we put in a g98 line and this works fine. What other options work well with multiple fixtures or part offset? |

| 8000b has 3 coordinate systems 1. machine reference. NOT USER DEFINABLE. Axes can be positioned by programming "M63000" on the same line as axis commands. Machine will position axes according to the machine reference coordinate system and will ignore any tool or fixture offsets that may be active. 2. absolute reference system USER DEFINABLE |

Axes can be positioned by programming "G98" on the same line as the axis commands. The G98 and M63000 commands are non-modal. Machine will position axes according to the absolute coordinate system and I think it will ignore tool and fixture offsets like the M63000 command. Use G92 G98 x?? to define axis position. 3. work coordinate system USER DEFINABLE by G92 x??? to define axis position. This system is used when no other coordinate system is specified (the default coordinate system). Machine will position axes according to any tool/fixture offsets which are active. I'm not positive about whether the G98 command will ignore the tool/fixture offsets. I ran this control for 5 or 6 years about 5 years ago. Hope this helps. |
