    Stepper motor test program?

    Hello, all i just made my own controller. I just want to test if the motor moves. Any program?

    Master5 includes a test utility. Or you can download a G-code and try it with TurboCNC, or use the jog feature at any program. is obvious that you do not need to attach te stepper to any real mechanics to see how moves.

    Just send the codes lpt away and look if the stepper moves and if the direction is ok. Doing this way you have as a bonus that you start to practise 'the real way'

    you might want to try k-cam. What did you make? Is it a unipolar or bipolar? Pwm?

    I'm also building that board, but I'm still looking for parts,
    I've got the allegro chips now, it's kind of hard to find it,
    most store I went to wants me to order in boxes.
    I also want to incorporate this UCN5804 , if I could.

    Please post your result after your testing.

    I am new to CNC, There are lots stuff i need help on. I got most of my parts from mousers. I think i did everything right, but for some reason the motor won't spind. take a look at the board and tell me if i put any parts in wrong way.

    Hi I'm new to CNC either,did a little research from CNC zone I was able to make myself a controller and it works,looks like we are all using the same IC(5804b).
