There is a list of supported applications and most cam software is on the list.

Yep, I use it daily, once you get used to it, you wont ever want to be without it. the freedom of rotating your part while being able to use the mouse to pick new tools is great. and also having the 2 user configurable buttons on the side are nice too.

If I had the extra money, I'd buy one of those mack daddy ones with the 20+ buttons and LCD screen..

I Čnt that! YOU JUST LOVE IT! If you need to draw fast and accurate. It's the way to go. + When you need to present the product to the client you can ... fly

The button's are ... crappy and you have a keybord near you so why do you need 2 additional buttons?

Nja. For commercial use? BUY IT! You will love it

Hey guys, Just got a spacenavigator.
Will take a little getting use to but so far its good and as for the buttons, more would be better but I didn't want to spend another 100 bucks for the spacetraveler.
Not bad at all.

I use the space pilot and love it. It's got a fair number of extra buttons on it and depending on your software these may or may-not be a help. For me, they're great. I use Solidworks and the esc, ctrl, shft & alt button's are almost used as much as the LMB plus it has an updating list of button's on the LCD as you move through functions. I use these to a lessor extent, but if your really in 'drawing mode' they get pretty handy..

FWIW....

A week ago I was just about to get the Space Navigator myself, but changed my mind and ponied up the cash for the Space Explorer instead. And I'm glad I did. My primary use is for SolidWorks and GibbsCAM and I already couldn't go back to not having it.
