Where can I buy a legal copy of Autocad 2002? It's been a while since I've used it, but I did like it. If the software has been uninstalled, it's legal to sell, correct? I've searched this forum, but could not find what I was looking for. Thanks in advance. |

| Not sure about 2002, but with newer versions of AutoCAD, you can't transfer the license. So you could buy a used copy, but it would be illegal to use it.

Likewise. The authority on the license would be autodesk themselves. Read the current documents if you care to. http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet...112&id=3970195 My interpretation would be a transfer of license requires the permission of the rights holders, ie autodesk. However IMNAL. Whether the transfer part of the license would hold water in court is another matter. I seem to recall software creators losing challenges to the transfer of this type of license. Unfortunately autodesk is the 500 lb gorilla in this situation. Just my 2 cents regarding a personal pet peeve. edit: Totally OT. Does your user name refer to the motorcycle? | Wow. I had no idea that it would be this complicated. I just want good software at a good price. Cyclestart, yes my user I.D. refers to my favorite motorcycle of all times; Yamaha TZ250. This is a picture of my bike at a local high school. http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o...c/Dscn0970.jpg This is me racing. I can no longer afford to race. http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o...c/ea2c7998.jpg |

| You might want to look at ProgeCAD. $400, and basically a clone of AutoCAD. The commands are mostly the same, and it looks almost the same as well. There's a link to the free, but limited, LT version in this thread. ProgeCAD free version

| Do you have a child in kindergarten thru college? If so maybe they would be interested in learning Autocad and maybe they would let you use it. http://www.academicsuperstore.com/ma...k_srch=autocad |

| Here is a link to someone with a OneCNC for sale. Now granted it is not Autocad, and it is not cheap cheap, but if you want CAM eventually, then I think it is an excellent value. Plus, you can resell your OneCNC, the next user pays a $500 fee and he's registered just like the previous user was. This version of OneCNC has the solid modelling package included, which (solid modelling) I would highly recommend to anyone getting a cad package nowadays. http://www.cnczone.com/ub...ic/27/535.html
