| I think Ironcad is way more than hobbiest software. For that you could download Alibre Xpress for free. I don't own Ironcad, but I did spend every minute I could on the demo, and it's pretty powerful software from what I recall. I do remember not being overly impressed with it's import capabilities, but other than that it is top notch. Dan

| IronCad is a excellent package! I've been using it professionally since it first came out (it was originally called "Tri Spectives") back in the early 90's but unfortunately am looking at changing at some stage to Solidworks. Whilst I think IronCad is superior to Soldiworks in many ways (although for one thing, the rendering engine in Solidworks is better), it just hasn't got the following in Australia, where Solidworks seems to be the basic CAD software standard.... and as such most of my clients want native interchange ability within file systems. | I am using IRONCAD since my First Steel machine build started... I made the 3D Model in it..and its most amazing Function is TRIBALL... No doubt its great software..
