I am intrigued, but when I saw the price I about pooped a brick. I have seen many requests for something just like this, but for a grand aren't there better full-featured packages to put money into that do exactly this same thing along with everything else as well?
I am not averse to paying thousands for good software, but a $1000 for a one-trick pony like this doesn't seem quite right. Nevertheless, I am downloading it now to try out. I could be wrong! I'll let you know.

Try Acme Profiler, $20.00, works good.

happy user

I had the same problem 3 years ago when I got the software (pc crash)

Problem was solved removing hardware acceleration on the graphics card options.

After that working fine.

I think 'Awsome' might be a bit optimistic....

Hi there,

Just wondering if you've actually cut any of the code. I tested it with a 'standard' image I put through all of these conversion utilities...

Unfortunately I think this still requires a little work. There's clearly a fault in the toolpath generated off this image.

I know it's NOT the image as I've run the same file through many other bitmap to gcode utils without this kind of problem appearing...

So I'm afraid I couldn't agree with 'Awesome'... more like Almost...

The other point I'd make is that.. as with all these image to code utils... results ultimately depend on the quality of the heightmap.. I've generated better toolpaths off this image using FREE software, as you know... so I don't think I'll be rushing out to buy Micropath just yet...

would be interested in any thoughts etc

Danny

Buy me a Beer?

it rendered and posted perfectly fine , the only reason it may look a bit rippled is simply the way the light hits it at different angles but it posts the outer edges of that image perfectly flat
most of us already know that you sell freeware how to because many of us have bought your tutorial but sometimes some things are worth paying for and at 35 bucks its pretty damned good if you ask me , some may not know but many do know that ive tryed most everything out there for rendering image to g code and I'm not about to bs anyone

Hi there,

I don't believe I suggested you are a BS merchant. You say you have cut the generated code from this utility without problem.. I haven't so I'm obliged to take your word for it. I can only speak as I find and if you look at the toolpath preview there is a small trench across the middle of the content... that was my immediate concern, not the area around the object..

As I said about this.. and also bmpbender (your last 'Awesome' find).. image to code or mesh utilities are only as good as the heightmap... If you find something to generate an appropriate heightmap for any image on the push of a button.. That WOULD be 'Awesome' !! Until then, IMHO ALL of these image to code or mesh utilis are just a distraction, discouraging CNC users from developing beneficial and widely applicable skills.

When you can heightmap the majority of existing FREE or PAY displacement /gcode utils produce the desired result at the tooltip. In fact you wouldn't be able to tell from the RAW code which utility generated it. I do distribute FREE and Sponsored tutorial material re: use of FREE / FREE to use software. I make no secret of this (see my tag). The goal being education of CNC users re: what can be acheived with basic knowledge/skills as opposed to outlay of funds. Some will always go for (IMHO) limited, short-term, partial and in most cases PAY solutions.... this is human nature,we are all essentially lazy or impatient.

Oh and BTW... the board did send your original unedited response to my email.... I'll bear those comments in mind the next time you ask for my help.

Best of luck with MicroPath... until you find the next 'Awesome' util anyway.

TTFN

Danny

you know something Danny ,the problem with you is its all your way or no way , bmp bender was and is the best thing that I have ever used to create models and that goes for your tutorials as well , and you did what you could to try and prove me wrong on it and discredited the whole thing , bottom line is that what I was able to put out in seconds still beat what you were putting out in god knows how long , and you still thought that you proved me wrong , the proof is in the cut and that is what i told you then and thats what i will say again
when i see something that i like i post it here in the zone as i always have , when I bought your tutorial i found things that i liked and i spread the word and i dont have enough hands to count the number of people that i had directed to buy your tutorials which you've reaped the benefit Danny .

that comment that you mentioned was true Danny , most people would like a simple solution rather than using multiple software's and bs measures to accomplish the same thing

as for your last comment I already decided my last night that we won't be talking on your board anymore
