We use AUTOCAD LT to run a 2D laser cutter. We are investigating 3D software, and finding compatibility issues. Typically we receive files from architects which have numerous drafting errors, wrong layers, etc. We need a program that will take information from our LT program, then create a "watertight" surface (mostly ground contour information) which can be read by a CNC or Rapid Prototyping machine. We have seen demos by RP Magics and Delcam (Artcam, powermill), and were impressed by both of them. Is anyone aware of 3d program "trial versions" that can import / export .DWG and .DXF files? |
