Hi all, I am new in this CNC world and I decided to build a machine using the 2006 plans from joe and the control kit from hobbycnc.com. I will use mach3 as software controller but I'm confused in what CAD/CAM software do I need to use, so please help me. My main goal is build parts in acrylic and wood. Most stuff will be 2D, some Routing, Engraving, etc but I would like to have the 3D capability for future projects. Again, I do not have any experience in this world so my knowledge in AutoCAD or Solidworks is 0. I would like to find a software easy, very to use with a lot of resources (books, videos, etc). My budget is close to 2500.00 dollars. Thanks in advance, serankko |

| For 2 1/2D work, I think Sheetcam is the best (www.sheetcam.com). Its reasonably priced and Les will work with all users to customize as necessary. Easy to use and does the job. usual disclaimer. Bubba
