| ArtCAM alone is over $6,500.00 US and you'll still need to shell out for CNC controller software such as Mach3. ArtCAM also has a fairly steep learning curve. They do have a good support forum and also provide free video training materials via their website. If I'm not mistaken ArtCAM uses a dongle license protection system which is OK unless the dongle is lost or stolen. You then have to pay (again) almost as much as the original software to have the dongle 'replaced'. Just something to think about. The ArtSoft Mach3 and Vectric VCarve line is a difficult combination to beat. They are both a great value and have great support both on this forum and their own forums! Both provide superb product manuals and free video training materials from their websites that makes going from setup/configuration to completed part almost too easy. Take some time to download the demos for both ArtSoft Mach3, Vectric VCarvePro, and Vectric PhotoVCarve (what the heck, you might as well check out the demo for Vectric Cut3D too). You can familiarize yourself with the programs and get them set up without spending a dime. I've been using Mach3 for over a year and a half and just purchased the VCarvePro-PhotoVCarve software combo last Thursday. Cutting the Vectric demo files is way nifty, but now, the ability to cut parts of my own design is just too cool. IHTH,
