Pro E help!

Does anyone know of a viewer for Pro E which will view solids and then measure from them. We have a customer that sent us models in Pro E 2.0 and our Inventor 11 software won't open it. The version is too new! I am looking for a freebie software if possible. This is only for quoting purposes right now and we can't justify spending to much money on this.

Yes, I have tried productviewexpress and it is only a viewer. It will not measure the solids, as far as I can tell.

I havent stumbled upon a free viewer with mesuring abilities. If you like i can convert it into some other format, else ask the customer to export to igis or something neutral

Have your customer send you the file as a parasolid or step file. Inventer should open either file format, then you will be able to measure any feature.

The customer says he lacks the time to convert the files. and my other issue is that the information may be secretive to allow someone else to convert them for me. There are roughly 40 models total, so it would take a bit of time on his part to convert. We are the only shop having issues with them so far. I can't believe PRO/E has made it so hard for other software to open there native files.

Solidworks will directly open a Pro/E file
i would try it for you if you wish to post one
if you know someone you trust with it
you can have that person open the files for you.

You can buy a version of productview that supports mesuring, i guess it cant be that expensive
