Looking for CAD for beginners...

Hello all,

I am looking for a good freeware CAD product which I can learn via tutorials or demonstrations, if they exist. I did download A9CAD and it looks nice but could not find anything that would show me how to use it. I know it is a simple program but to me it's just Greek without something like a book or tutorial to walk me through it step by step. Does anyone know of ways to learn A9CAD or does anyone know of any other free CAD programs which I would be able to find good explanations on how to use them? I want to find freeware for now before going out and spending a thousand bucks on something like AutoCad. Thanks alot.

It's an autocad clone, so anything you learn about autocad should be useable with Progecad.

For 3D, check out Alibre Xpress. It is a free parametric solid modeller, with tutorials.

I too am learning CAD/CAM, and have had a great learning experience with Alibre. However, i am looking for a CAD/CAM program, easy like Alibre, that i can "learn in to" so i can use it with the CNC router i am building. I have heard of Pro/Engineer CAD?CAM for under $500. Anyone have any other products with integrated CAM?
