| The Best? The Best For What? What do you do? What's the best car to buy? What's the best size house to buy? Which soda tastes the best? Best is a subjective question. Formulate some criteria on what you need to do and ask those questions. If you want to be competitive for future developments in the CAD world, Edgecam offers the best Cad to Cam integration. | Trying to sort through CAM software is like herding cats. Trying to filter truth from all the errant raving on the internet is twice as bad. My company is very nearly about to implement two additional CAM applications after 6 months of studying our needs and available packages. We have narrowed the field and have decided to spend what it takes to do some heads up tests of our own. Currently on our floor is Gibbs V9 beta, and MasterCamX, soon to be implemented is Hypermill, and Edgecam. We use solid models exclusively. Mill/turn, multi-axis milling, turning. I'll offer what I can, if anybody is considering a absurdly expensive software purchase. There are no leaders, follow the truth. |
