auto nesting inculded..

so far i only found 3 different softwares that have autonesting feature

OneCNC ($$ and the person who i talked to was rude...)

Bobcad (reasonable pricing and they answered all questions i had)

www.mtc-limited.com (seem very expensive software for the features it have.. and you have to pay for every extra features)

is there any other software out there for auto nesting...

our table is 5x10 cnc flame/plasma cutting table.. so autonesting would be a important feature for us..

and if u have input for any companies above or other companies im glad to hear about it.. im hoping to make right choice not waste my money and buy other software in the future..

ArtCAM Pro & ArtCAM Insignia

From what I've heard, they're not cheap. They will do "True Shape Nesting" , though.

This product is similar to Vectric VCarve Wizard although it's maybe 5 or 6 times the cost of VCarve Wizard. I don't think VCarve does part nesting (yet). You may want to check with the Vectric sales department or post a message in the VCarve Wizard Forum for a definite answer. Tony Mac is quick to answer VCarve Wizard and PhotoVCarve questions.

Post CAD Nester

The software I use from Wittlock engineering has a spin off that will take DXF files and build a true shape nest. You can then import the DXF nest into the CAM soft ware that you like to use. This would make a good add on to anyone that needs true shape nesting but wants to keep their current CAM software.

I just did a cut and past from the sight or you can go and look at all the information.

“CAD NESTER is a Windows based TRUE SHAPE, MULTI PART nesting software solution designed specifically for the manufacturing industry. Whether you are a job shop or large production shop, we have a solution that fits your needs. CAD NESTER provides a simple but powerful solution to nesting parts that requires only the most basic information for complete automation of the nesting process!”

Afraid we don't offer Nesting in VCarve Pro but it is something we will look at in the future.

Thanks for all the feedback on the various options as this is very interesting and useful.

google for a software called Most2D i played with a demo of it for quite a while and was always impressed with the features and incredibly efficient nests, including nesting smaller parts in the cutouts of larger parts. if i recall right it was 750 us dollars. the man i spoke to on the phone was very helpful and even wrote a custom script for me that perfectly form fit the software to me. check it out, you wont regret the time spent.
