| Hi. I just came across this IntelliCAD product. It seems fairly cheap and has a lot of features, does anyone know anything about it or if its any use? Its at: http://www.scodium.com/products/intellicad/index.htm I'd be looking to do drawings that I could then use in a program like VCarve Wizard. Thanks. |

| You can take a look at progecad lt. It's free but it's based on intellicad. http://www.progecad.com/ I have little experience with intellicad but it's just a autocad(LT) clone.

| Intellicad was developed by Shapeware (maker of Visio) and the assets were transferred to the Intellicad Consortium www.intellicad.org before the assets of the company were sold to Microsoft. The consortium members jointly develop and share the source code and many use it to build products such as architectural design packages using the engine. I've used Bricscad and a thing called DWGeditor which comes from member Cadopia that is bundled with Solidworks. Various members sell for different prices so shop around if you need a less expensive Autocad clone. |

| You can get the 2d intellicad for free, I have a couple older versions of it laying around. Its a decent peice of software, it acts kinda strangely different than autocad(version I used, and solidworks dwg editor), it doesnt really snap or anything to the grid visually with the cursor, but will snap to nearest that you specify when you actually click. Theres other things that are different too. Jon
