    Question .bin Files

We bought a used (old) wire EDM machine & it didn't have the original paramater settings tapes with it. I found somebody to help me out who sent me some files that should work but they are all .bin extension. I can't open these files with any software that I have. My goal is to open the files & send it to the paper punch to make the tape. Anybody have any suggestions? Thanks!

You should be able to just send those files the way they are. (Provided that's how he 'got' them).

If you right click on the file while holding SHIFT, it will present you with an "Open With.." option. Select Notepad. If you can read the file, it's a text file with a binary extension. But I would guess you can just transfer the file as-is.

yes.....but .bin can also be many seperate files compressed
(packed) into one huge (.bin) file in a certain order.
Similar to winzip or winrar that requires another utility to extract the contents.

The files may need some kind of extraction utility or something. If I try to open them in notepad it's just garbage & shapes (no legible words or numbers). If anybody knows about this I'd appreciate the help. Thanks!
