    FreeMILL help needed by newbie

Not sure if anyone can help but I am trying to generate g-code for a part requiring 3 axis. I modelled the part in Solidworks and then downloaded FreeMILL. My machine runs Acurite MillPWR.

I have imported my part and it all looked good, picked up that the part was 232mm X 150 X 12.5mm but when I ran the code, it only made a part approx 9mm 4mm.

Have tried multipule times, uninstalled and reinstalled, but keep getting the same result.

It is like it has scaled it down but there is no facility for me to change the scale.

Am I expecting too much from freeware...any suggestions of other software?

    Any suggestions greatfully accepted. Cheers

STL files don't specify what units are used

It sounds like Freemill is taking in your millimeters, and trying to translate them into inches, but is then outputting mm instead - multiply 9 x 25.4 and you get pretty close to what you were starting with. So look for the mm/inch settings and change the output units to mm; that should fix the problem (this could be happening because you're using the wrong post-processor). If that doesn't work for some reason, go back to your original CAD program and scale everything up by a factor of 25.4.
