I'm a newbie trying to figure out this whole software conversion deal. I have downloaded several cad, cam and control programs. I am obviously missing several steps in the conversion process. I have downloaded several IGS and DXF files, and even created my own basic shapes in the cad software. When I try to move onto the CAM, tool path generation and onto the Cutviewer Mill. What the image started out as in cad, and what it looks like in cut viewer are two different things. I've been trying to use, Autocad 2012, Qcad, meshcam, Mach3, LAzycam as well as meshlab and cutviewer mill.

If someone could maybe give me a basic step by step for how to move from one to the other, I would greatly appreciate it.
