Darren, this can be done using Adobe Streamline, but the results are less then perfect in regards to scale.

EDIT:
You can demo the software here:

or you can use adobe illustrator. if the pdf data is actually vector based, illustrator will import it correctly (unless it is text based, at which point it may be a bit disjointed - example "Jason Griffith" might come over as four different selectable parts - Ja son Griff and ith...although it will still line up).

From illustrator, you can simply say 'export - dxf'

If you need this done, drop me a private message.

You can use the free for non-commerical purposes Ghost Script software...
I have actually used this for some line drawings.

well i got it to work, looks like i took the long route tho. Opened it in illustrator saved it as an AI file then opened the AI in Rhino. it didnt scale it right tho as one dimention was 28" on the orginal and after going thru all of this it was 23.13. No problem to scale it to where it was supposed to be tho. Ill have to try the dxf export in illustrator.
Thanks for all the help

You can also get a direct pdf to dxf converter... http://www.cadkas.de

allows rotation, scale factor, select images only.. etc..
I believe they may have a demo, not sure..
