    My need for CAM software has declined somewhat.

    I have discovered that EMC2's G code is a very powerful programming language, with named subroutines, variables, loops, ifs, etc etc etc. I can do full fledged programming on it to implement various operations.

    With that in mind, I think that I will be good for a while without any CAM stuff.

    Yes, the subroutines are very powerful. I did a bending mandrel for some parts at work using just macros. I was able to do a series of arcs that got bigger as the cutter progressed moving in the X axis. The location of the arcs changed in Z also- forming a trough that was on a large radius. The thing looked like part of an injection mold when we were done with it.
