Hello and welcome to my 1st post ! I'm building a small desktop milling machine and ultimately want to use it for ( amongst other things ), milling camshafts for model petrol engines. Is there a dedicated set of software for canshaft milling or alternatively what software should I be using ( preferably free or fairly cheap ) to generate the code for this ? I'll be using Mach 3 to drive the mill, and it will have a fourth axis ( dividing head or rotary table ), and also anticipate using Meshcam for 3D stuff. I can generate DXF file of the shafts via my CAD programme easily ( Design Cad v13 ), and I guess would use this to feed into any code generating software ( or am I wrong ? ). Any help much appreciated. Nick. |
