Catia License

Hi there, let me first introduce myself. My name is Wes and I work in a large shop in Southern California as a set up machinist. I work on mostly 5 axis mills and occasionally large 3 axis mills too. I have 2 and a half years of experience so far (I'm only 20) working in the industry and I'm looking to make some extra money on the side.

The shop I work for uses Catia V5 and they said I could purchase a seat for 10k under their primary account license. I was wondering how paying for maintenance would work. I know its a yearly cost, but I'm wondering if I could directly pay Catia for it or if the company would have to pay for it with the rest of the seats? I've read somewhere that you can purchase a seat and then just cancel the maintenance, but you can still use your version of the software. Just without any updates or support from Catia. Also, say I got laid off. What complications could arise from that? Could they use admin powers on my account and steal it from me?

Does anyone who deals with Catia know what I'm talking about?

Again, I just want it for side work and I don't think I can afford to purchase a primary account license. I heard they are around 30k =[
