Just wanted to say that if anyone here is a Mac user and needs to do any proper 3D cad work, Turbocad Pro by IMSI design is a pretty nice bit of software. I use it for all my 3D cad, and we export IGES files and the machine shops machine the parts using five axis machines and EDM wire cutters. It also has a pretty nice photorender feature where you can render out your models, and with a bit of practice, its easy to get your photorenders looking like photographs.
