    text wrapping question

OK i'm mainly a 2d guy so this is a bit new to me and i'm hoping there is a very simple answer, but doubt it. Anyway here is what i would like to do. let's say I have a 3 foot piece of round 4 inches in diameter. I want to engrave "big daddy" or anything really on there, not wrapping around the bar, but instead along the length of the bar. can anyone tell me the easiest way to accomplish this, i'm having a rough time getting this to look correct with anything i try.

    thanks
