bmp to dxf or something

Hi Guys

Could anyone recommend a program to convert a bmp to dxf.
We want to scan a logo then convert to dxf so that we can machine the detail.
Any help wpold be greatly appreciated.

It has been about 10 years since I scanned in an image and converted it to a DXF. I used Corel Draw. Adobe StreamLine (included in Illustrator) was also software that would do the conversion back then. You are looking for a Rastor to Vector conversion software. Google rastor to vector and a bunch of software comes up, you can probably download a trial version to get your job done if you only have one job. In my limited experience, typically the DXF was very "dirty" and required some cleaning up. That was 10 years ago and I would imagine there is much better software availible now.

One of my customers converted it for me using corel draw, it came up ok but did require a bit of cleaning.
