    TrueSpace now free

Don't know if this is the right place for this.

    This program looks pretty impressive.

And it is free....wonder if there is a "Catch"

It is, once you get used to the interface. I started using Truespace at Version 2, over 10 years ago. Haven't looked at it since V4 or 5, but you can probably model just about anything with its huge assortment of modeling and animating tools.

Hi - bumping an older thread.

I am still reading about this software. It seems to be an on-line CAD / annimation method - I think.

Has anyone used this to draw, the actually cnc parts from it ?

    Thanks

    Harry

Not sure what you mean by "on-line"? It's a 3D modeling, rendering, and animation program.
I'm downloading it now, and I'll do some testing to see how the models export.

    Hi there,

AFAIK the the current FREE version of TruSpace is restricted in terms of export to non portable file formats...

Earlier FREE versions of the program, V3.0 up tp 3.2 (I think), DO export to COB format which is convertable to 3DS, DXF, STL etc using 3D Exploration.

You can STILL find the earlier version online, theres a link to it at cnc4free.. however you will need an install code, which Caligari no longer distribute.. but which can be found via a yahoo or google using "truespace SF" as the search critera.

    Hope this helps
