software for castings and forgings

Can some tell me what is the best software out there to program for castings or forgings. Will the software take a pro e model of part and a model of fixture.

I would suggest looking for a program that has surfacing tools, boolean operations (add, subtract, merge) and can generate a parting line curve.

In the past, I have used Shark FX to create this type of tooling. The same company offers a program called ViaCAD Pro that, I believe, has these tools, too.

Rhino would be another good program to take a look at.
