auto cad to 3ds max to cnc?

This may be a hard one. I have been using auto cad for a while. Never in 3d. I want to take my drawing of a wing into 3d so i can cnc it for an rc plane. Problem one. I tried to bring it into 3ds Max and holy crap is that a new world. Basic problem is that when i import it in to 3ds max its a spline and will not edit like it should. Im thinking i dont want to lern Max just to carve a wing. Can i do this in auto can and acheive the same results. Oh ya this wing is complex, Im modeling the F-22. Any ideas? I have the base rib and the wing tip rib in 2d and need to extrude them into 3d so i can use Vectric to translate it for my cnc. Im sorry if this makes no sense, its so hard to type what i want to do?

Regardless of which program you choose to use, it's going to take some skill and familiarity with creating 3D models in that particular program. In AutoCAD, there are multiple ways to create 3D models. But if you've never done any 3D work, the learning curve can be very steep. You might want to google for some autocad 3D tutorials.

You may have better luck looking at this to get your 2d into 3d:

Autodesk 123D - Download Free 3D Modeling Software

It will be an easier process for you than trying to learn Max or Autocads 3d, Plus, it will keep you in NURBS.
