Hello,
You can use Draftsite and it is completely free. It is very close to AutoCAD with all of the tools from Dassault Systemes.

Hello
I have my system working with Enroute Software.
I would like to import dxf/dwg files from others.
but the others do not like to spend money for CAD software.
what CAD software is for free? and downloaded from where?
(to make drawings on different layers = tool layers, what i need for enroute import)

Dolphin Partmaster CAD is free also. I use it more for the CAM but I am pretty sure they offer the CAD side of the software free.
Dolphin cad quit working for me after 30 days. I could not find the version that stayed active.
It would still work you just could not save to DFX.
I recommend Intellicad 2001.

Another vote for Draftsight, It's free and they have been updating it regularly. The only requirement is a valid email to register it.

anyone know of a 'old school' cad that will run old acad r2.6~r12 sidebar menus? I had a pretty elaborate electrical/hydraulic schematic menu that I'd still prefer to use, and tons of blocks... I use Intellicad at home, it works, but cant use my antique sidebar menu...a buddy wrote a neat little autolisp app about 20 years ago that will convert g-code to cad, it works on icad also, but only two axes, and a little buggy with some programs... I miss my menu though, just hate the pulldowns...
Hello,
I spent an age looking into this.....and eventually settled on 4 programs in combo:
A9CAD and A9CONVERTER from A9TECH.com (Both FREE), Autodesk Design Review 2012 and DWG TrueView 2012 from usa.AutoDesk.com (Again, both FREE!).
The Autodesk applications take a hell of a lot of memory to load...but are so....comprehensive. A9CAD and A9CONVERTER are less memory hungry and load faster, but are better using some of the Autodesk utilities. Be careful how you load DWG Trueview 2012: If you don't leave enough disk space on the drive it won't setup properly and Autodesk Design Review 2012 won't function properly without it. Best I can offer...
