    print scale unpredictable

I create a viewport and select 1:1, but the contents when scaled in that window are not 1:1.

    I am using acad2000.

I'm thinking that somewhere there is another scale factor specified, operating in between the model and paper space. When I select 1:30, the items print slightly small, I think if I could specify a print scale of 1:24.5 they might be perfect.

    What am I missing?

I have another issue somewhat related to you but still need to be resolved...

I have a laser printer, when i set the scale unit in Autocad plot window (1unit=25.4) then i not get the actual scale on A4 size paper.... Suppose i draw a 50mm circle i then print it on A4 paper, then the horizontal side is 50mm but the vertical diameter is 51mm... I don't know why?

When i was using Autocad 2000 the problem not persisted but in Autocad 2006 i am getting this problem!!!

Sounds like the viewport is not scaled correctly. Doubleclick in the viewport to make that focus (it will turn to a thick polyline type of border) and then in the command line, type Zoom 1xp <enter> and then doubleclick outside the viewport to remove focus.
In the past, I used this to do my drawings. I would put the titleblock drawing in paper space at 1:1 and then use various viewports (scaled as above) to insert the details and then always plotted 1:!.

    Khalid,
Your case sounds like a printer issue in that it is not moving the paper through properly. Their also may be one of the obscure settings in acad that is causing the problem? Not really sure.

Plot, and select printer as plotter, then you calibrate X and Y scaling for the printer.
Super X3. 3600rpm. Sheridan 6"x24" Lathe + more. Three ways to fix things: The right way, the other way, and maybe your way, which is possibly a faster wrong way.

Set up the paperspace layout to the correct size paper and 1:1 scale.

For your viewport, depending on your version of AutoCAD, there's a drop down box to choose the scale. In older version you used the zoom command to scale (you still can in new versions too.)

    Hi neil,
I calibrated the printer and the printer printed a rectangle on A4 paper.. I measured the dimensions and entered into printer dialogue...
After calibration successful i printed a Circle but the dimension having in verticle dimension...

I would love if someone out their print 50mm dia circle and can post the results of verticle and horizontal diameter...

I am using HP laserjet 3500...

If you post the drawing I'll look at it. I've been using AutoCAD daily for 15 years and never had a problem printing to scale.
