View CAD through Access db

Hi y'all, I have a devoloping database which has the ability to show plans through a picture control in MSAccess. I have a button which opens CAD viewer but the drawing is not available unless I navigate to it in the viewer. I need a bit more funtionallity.
What I would like to be able to do is click the button on the picture control form in MSAccess and open the plan directly in AutoCAD ready for editing. I guess this needs some code but I don't know how to do this.
Alternatively if anyone knows of a software(free if pos) then please point me in the direction.
